The menu is a simple one. Roast chicken (€5.50/ half portion, €11/ whole) is the specialty of the house. In addition, there’s grilled pork steak (€6), grilled bacalhau (salt-cod, €11) and very little else. The room is pleasant and colourful. On the walls there are various hand-painted tile panels depicting chickens and chicks. In one, they’re seated at a table – eating humans I presume! We order veal kebab with prawns (€11.50). Served with chips and salad, it’s really good. We snack on bread, olives, spicy chamuças (parcels of curried mince, €0.80), a mug of beer (€1.80) and a diet Pepsi (€1.50). A coffee at the end, and that’s it! If you’re on your way to the airport in Faro, we recommend stopping here.
