If we’re honest, this restaurant was suggested to us by the Mayor of Castro Marim, José Estevens. But let’s try an unbiased description. From the moment we set foot inside our eyes are drawn to the kitchen. We choose a fresh Peixe Espada with boiled potatoes and a mixed salad (€10,50) and a Feijoada de Cherne (turbot with beans, €10,80) with lots of piri-piri (chilli sauce). These were among the daily specials. Note that Fernando serves certified mirandesa meat from the Bragança region. What more can a gourmet say about a restaurant which offers cheese, homemade desserts, ice cream and a basket of fresh fruit at the end of a good lunch?
