60-year-old Andreas Hoffmann is a real ‘character’. You won’t find more than one such bar/ restaurant-owner in the Algarve. Anybody intending to eat chez André needs strong nerves, because he might just lose his temper if a client upsets him in some way. Nevertheless, from the kitchen come the best meatballs on the west coast, good potato salad, even better roast beef with sautéed potatoes (€9), rabbit casserole (€8) on some days, always a fried sausage, absolutely always chicken, and sometimes fresh fish too. There are 14 different wines and four different beers (including draft). Anybody who wants to taste Brazilianinfluenced German cuisine could do a lot worse than come here…
