Portugal’s best chefs cook-up octopus in Tavira

The famous octopus fished by the small town of Santa Luzia is to be the centre of attraction in this year’s edition of the «Algarve Chefs Forum», scheduled for 21st September at Tavira’s “Pousada do Convento da Graça”.
Edition 642 ( 2 Sep 2010), No Comments »

The event – this will be its third year running – is designed to attract gastronomic professionals and promote the use of regional products in new recipes and applications.

National and international chefs will be taking part, exploring all sorts of ways of using the local delicacy, from the moment it’s fished to its presentation in various recipes.

The event also has a debate component where participants can discuss emerging trends in the restaurant sector.

The first «Algarve Chefs Forum» was held in 2008, with the objective of contributing to the development of cookery professionals and promoting the Algarve’s traditional forms of cuisine.

The entry fee includes two intervals for coffee and documentation. Anyone interested should contact: 218 822 992 or email Email
