Portuguese plugged into cellphones and computers

According to the data, each subscriber made an average of 44 calls per month, and sent 133 text messages.
By the end of December last year, mobile phone penetration had risen to 149.9 phones per every 100 inhabitants!
Also in 2009, roughly 3.8 million users had broadband Internet access in Portugal – 59 per cent more than in the same period the year previously (when the fixed internet connected 1.9 million users, of which 1.87 had broadband).
According to a report by «EMEA PC Tracker 2009» (consultants for the global market intelligence firm IDC), last year 1.816 million PCs were sold in Portugal – a value that corresponds to a growth of 11.8 per cent against figures for 2008.
