For the moment, the information presented is various - highlighting Luso-Chinese relations, and also giving information on the characteristics of the Portugal Pavilion, which will be decked out in cork, to promote this form of traditional Portuguese culture in the East.

Portugal’s participation in the event – which begins on 1st May and continues through until 31st October – has not been without controversy.

Considering we’re in a financial crisis, the budget for Portugal’s pavilion rounds out at 10 million euros - an amount that, naturally, will be funded with taxpayers’ money.

Justification has come with the explanation that this would be a way of Portugal promoting itself and its economic activity, as well as establishing contacts between Portuguese and Chinese businesses – thus nurturing the possibility of economic exchange between the two countries.
