Andy Windsor, the man responsible for the European soccer schools run by Liverpool FC’s football academy, hopes to discover new talent for the English club now that a football school has been opened in Albufeira. The legendary Anfield Road club has chosen two “golden oldies” from the past to act as their Algarvian scouts– both of them resident in the region: John Aldridge lives in Praia da Luz, near Lagos, while Peter Thompson is based in Albufeira. The new extension of the English football academy – called «Albufeira holiday camp» - is located on the Alfamar Resort, and only very recently got started. The first camp – aimed at youngsters from the ages of 5 to 10 – will take place between 8th and 10th July, and involve structured training, competitions and games, all overseen by trainers from the English academy. Enrolment for the course costs €225 and can be done online on www.liverpoolfcsoccerschools.com
