Environment and renewable energies on show in Quarteira

It’s called «Expo Energias Renováveis & Mobilidade Sustentável 2009», and is a combined initiative involving Quarteira parish council, Loulé Town Council and a number of other entities.

Admission is free and people will be encouraged to try out various environmentally-friendly vehicles, as well as take part in workshops on recycling and reusing of different materials. In all, there’ll be around 20 exhibitors in stalls set up on the Praça do Mar – all showing their ideas of how to make Portugal a ‘cleaner’ country – closer to attaining the objectives laid down in the Kyoto Protocol (almost 17 years ago!)

The renewable energies exhibition is part of the «European Solar Days» commemorations, and involves a varied programme of activities.
