Spain chosen over Portugal to launch Portuguese low-cost cosmetics
“I Love Me” is a make of low-cost unisex cosmetics created by Portuguese José Janeiro, trained in marketing. “Launching a product “made in Portugal” for the International market is much more complicated than launching a product “Made in Spain” – due to the strong tradition for cosmetics, particularly in Barcelona,” Janeiro told Lusa news agency.

With Portuguese capital and an initial investment of over 100.000 euros, the “I Love Me” range was born in September 2011. Over Christmas, Janeiro sold “around 20 per cent” of his initial production of 2.000 items.
The secret for his success? All products are below €20 “because people have less money and still enjoy pampering themselves”, he says.
