Troika hammers “Porto de Olhão”
A new factory – the Companhia de Pescarias do Algarve, an investment of 1.3 million euros – opened in “Porto de Olhão” last year and then closed due to lack of connection to mains drainage.

Now another is nearly complete – again a fish cannery, this time involving an investment of 2.5 million euros, some of them from the EC. But this, too, will be unable to function – all because of “lack of authorisation from the Ministry of Finance” to connect with the sewerage system that leads to the town’s ETAR. And the reason: money needed for this connection has been “frozen” under the auspices of the Troika…
