To be sited in Silves, Albufeira and Loulé, the structures will cover 65 hectares and be the region’s first centres for the production of photovoltaic energy for public consumption.
In all, there will be 142.000 panels, producing 33 MWp – enough to provide energy for a medium-sized Algarvian town (like Loulé). The panels will reduce CO2 emissions by around 15.200 tons per year – that’s equivalent to the energy required to power a traditional power centre. Martinfer Solar will be responsible for the construction and maintenance of all three centres.
